CITATION AND USE OF SOURCES
All quotations are given in the language of the article in their original wording or in an accurate translation from a foreign language. Abbreviations are allowed if they do not change the meaning of the quoted fragment. The abbreviation is indicated by three dots, for example: “part of the quotation … another part of the quotation after the deleted fragment”. If there was a punctuation mark before or after the abbreviation, it is not used in the case of an abbreviation.
Quotations from scientific or other works are set off by quotation marks that indicate the beginning and end of the quotation. Fragments of regulatory legal acts, case law, and other similar materials are not set off with quotation marks.
References to the sources used are made in square brackets, where the first number corresponds to the number of the source in the list given at the end of the article, and the second number is the page number on which the quoted fragment is placed (if any), for example: [5, р. 18].
If a quotation is partially placed on several pages, their numbers are hyphenated, for example: [12, р. 45-46].
If the cited source is a document that has paragraphs, the number of the cited paragraph should be given in square brackets, for example [6, para 50] or [14, paras 87-89].
The numbers of parts and articles of legislative acts are given directly in the text of the article, and only the number of the source in the list is indicated in square brackets, for example: “According to part 3 of Article 22 of the Civil Code [8], damages are compensated in full, unless the contract or law provides for compensation in a smaller or larger amount.”.
A reference to a legislative act is given once in the part of the text where it is mentioned for the first time. In case of further mentions of this act, the reference to it is not given.
The use of footnotes at the bottom of the page is allowed in exceptional cases to explain the essence of certain aspects covered in the article. Authors should make every effort to provide all necessary explanations directly in the text of the article.
The list of references must contain new scientific sources published in the last 5 years. Exceptions are allowed only when justified by the purpose of the article.
References to the author(s) own publications should be justified by the purpose of the study. The volume of self-citation (citing fragments of the author’s own previously published works) may not exceed 20% of the total volume of the article. The number of own works of the author(s) of the article in the list of references should not exceed 10% of the total number of references.
References to sources of a non-scientific nature, in particular, Wikipedia, blog posts, must be justified by a specific and exclusive purpose that cannot be achieved without reference to such sources.
