PDF (Ukrainian)<\/a><\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\nDOI: https:\/\/doi.org\/10.33731\/32024.311656<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n Submitted 2024-08-12 <\/p>\n\n\n\n <\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n Temporal restriction of biomedical research on human embryos created in vitro<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n Ihor Shyshko<\/strong> <\/p>\n\n\n\n Abstract Having studied the practice of establishing temporal limitations in various countries of the world, in particular, the Swiss Confederation, the Czech Republic, the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland, the Kingdom of the Netherlands and others, as well as the issues related to the status of the human embryo and the scientific opportunities that the research of human embryos, created in vitro more than 14 days since their creation, will provide, the author has concluded that the existing models of temporal limitation in the world, in particular, the rule of 14 days, are not able to maintain a balance of interests, which is why it is necessary to establish a model that will provide for several temporal limitations at once. The author has proposed a two-level model of temporal limitation. The first level provides for the possibility of cultivating a human embryo created in vitro up to the 14th day of its development from the moment of creation and carrying out biomedical research of such embryos up to the 14th day of their development from the moment of creation. The second level, which in exceptional cases and in the presence of stricter conditions provides for the possibility of cultivating a human embryo created in vitro up to the 28th day of its development from the moment of creation, and carrying out biomedical research of such embryos up to the 28th day of their development from the moment of creation. <\/strong>The article is devoted to the study of the temporal limitations of biomedical research on human embryos created in vitro.\u00a0The author has investigated various models of setting temporal restrictions, in particular, the most widespread in the world model of 14 days temporal limitation. The article examines the validity of various models of temporal limitations (in particular, models that provide for temporal limitations of 7 days, 14 days, 28 days) and their ability to maintain a balance between the protection of a human embryo, the interests of a human, society, state, and science.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
